Ayan Heritage Walks offers thoughtfully curated walking tours through the city's living history. From the grandeur of Shaniwar Wada to the quiet charm of the old peths, from rock-cut caves to colonial Camp, our walks are designed to delight, inform and surprise.

Our walks
Nine routes through one city
Each walk is a theme, not a checklist — architecture, festival, faith, empire or stone. Most run about two hours and cover a kilometre or two.
Old City Heritage Walk
The walk we come back to again and again. Through Kasba, Shaniwar and Budhwar Peth — past Pune's oldest temple, the walls of Shaniwar Wada, and wada doorways that have been opening onto the same lanes for two hundred years.
Pataleshwar Caves
A whole temple cut downward out of one sheet of Deccan basalt, twelve hundred years ago, when this was not Pune yet but the village of Bhamburda. Ten minutes from JM Road, and most Punekars have never been inside.
Sarasbaug: Heritage & Nature
Everyone in Pune has been to Sarasbaug. Almost nobody knows it was built as a lake — or that it is named after the cranes Sawai Madhavrao released onto its water.
Colonial Chronicles: A Walk through Camp
Two miles and two centuries from the peths. Basalt churches, wrought-iron verandahs, Irani bakeries and East Street — the other Pune, built by an empire and kept alive by everyone who came after it.
Festival Special Walks
Pune is a different city during a festival. We run special walks timed to Ganeshotsav, Diwali, Hanuman Jayanti, Women's Day and World Heritage Week — because some things can only be seen on the day.
